Bellroy is a global business (founded in Melbourne, Australia) with a bold growth plan. Since we sold our first wallet in 2011, we’ve diversified into tech products, bags and accessories; we’re now a team of 100 staff, selling in more than 1200 doorways and directly to consumers in 150 countries.

We recognized pretty early on that we could use business as a force for good. So, as a certified B Corp, we constantly pursue better ways to source our leathers, reduce our impact on the environment and make sure our products last as long as possible. We’re proud of the products we make and think it’s pretty awesome when companies want to gift our considered products to their clients, customers and staff. Our Corporate Sales channel was formalised in 2018 and has more than doubled YoY since its inception. We see plenty of growth ahead, and with the right person at the helm, are excited to see where this growing space could be taken. We already partner with a best-in-class promotional product supplier in the United States and we’re keen to further develop that relationship and grow responsibly by co-branding with like-minded companies globally. YOU COULD BE THE ONE, IF YOU…

  • Have 5-10 years of sales experience in corporate gifting or promotional product channels, ideally working for a brand in the lifestyle, travel or fashion space.
  • Understand the nuances of the B2B space including employee incentives, recognition & reward, loyalty programs, and corporate gifting.
  • Are familiar with promotional product suppliers and understand their decoration requirements and distributor pricing models. You also feel comfortable working with direct customers and can negotiate those deals with ease to build an ongoing relationship.
  • Have attended relevant trade shows in the B2B space and bring an entrepreneurial spirit and ‘can do’ attitude that will drive you to seek out other trade events and new business opportunities.
  • Can delicately balance new opportunities to ensure all measures are taken to block gray market distribution. You take pride in keeping with Bellroy’s brand identity and mission.
  • Have the interpersonal skills and desire to work with varying levels of decision-makers inside both large and small companies.
  • Can partner and collaborate effectively with Bellroy’s internal cross functional teams to ensure ongoing product, decoration, and shipping needs are met.
  • Have a little bit of design geek in you. We challenge the way carry goods have always been designed, and often the brilliance of our products needs some explanation. You’re comfortable doing so in a compelling, well-informed and genuine manner.

IF YOU WERE HERE LAST MONTH, YOU MIGHT HAVE…

  • Called our promotional products supplier to evaluate an exciting new opportunity with one of their key distributors to co-brand a backpack with a silicon valley tech company.
  • Had regular conversations with our corporate sales team at HQ in Australia in reviewing inventory availability for pending leads and working through constraints with the development and logistics teams to ensure confirmed orders are still on track for on-time delivery.
  • Worked with our VP, Global Wholesale to set sales targets for our supplier and establish annual KPI’s with quarterly milestones to be evaluated/actioned on an ongoing basis.
  • Joined an evening call with our corporate sales coordinator to review upcoming product releases to work out an inventory plan for the next 6 months.
  • Prospected for new business. Perhaps you’ve called on some Napa Valley wineries to discuss Bellroy’s Market Totes and Cooler Bags. Or you might be calling some upscale hotel chains to outfit their staff with a new backpack or wallet.
  • Had a difficult conversation with an interested customer where you had to explain that our brands did not align well enough to move forward with a co-brand.
  • Attended an industry trade show or corporate event in search of new business opportunities.
  • Met with our production team to review an opportunity with a new printer/decorator in the channel.
  • Discussed challenges and opportunities in your channel at the weekly sales meeting.
  • Worked with our product design and development teams preparing some customised options to pitch to a potential customer.
  • Spent time with the VP, Global Wholesale working out a plan to approach customers in a new country.
  • Given feedback to our Creative team about how the ‘corporate sales’ sales deck could be updated to help customers understand what we’re offering

LOCATION AND HOURS

This is a full-time position based remotely in the US. We’re open to where you work from but as we’ll need you to communicate with our Melbourne office frequently, PST-zone is strongly preferred. Some travel will be required including trade shows and events in order to develop new opportunities (estimating 15% - 20% travel).

Our Spaces

'Bellroy' is a fusion of our two homes – Bells Beach and Fitzroy. Bells Beach brings a relaxed, outdoor vibe to balance Fitzroy's creative, urban style. The city and the sea; inspiration and adventure. Together they provide a perfect balance.

Bells Beach

Our beach HQ sits behind giant sandstone cliffs that overlook one of Australia’s best-known surfing coastlines. It’s where our Product Designers experiment in the Maker Lab, and our Sales team consume awesome amounts of espresso and Skype bandwidth. Things are more tranquil here than our Fitzroy neighbours and we like the focus that can create. There’s a cafe right next door if you need a quick bite and our 11am surf check always provides the perfect chance to reset the mind with some salt air.

Fitzroy

Our Fitzroy space is immersed in the middle of Melbourne’s creative hub. It’s where our Creative, Marketing, Engineering and Operations teams develop campaigns and ensure each Bellroy is sent safely across the world. Walk out the door and you’ll find streets bursting with energy (and the best ramen joint this side of Tokyo). There’s also an olympic-size pool just around the corner for those in need of a lunchtime refresh.

Remotely

Outside of our two main headquarters we have a team that works remotely - from Western Australia to parts of Asia, the USA and Europe. Being global is at the heart of Bellroy, it keeps us connected, and makes sure we see life from many different perspectives.
