Replacing your Transit Carry-On Grab Handle

Included in your Fix-it Kit

2 x A screw, 4 x B screw, 1 x hex key, 2 x caps (1 featuring our logo), 1 x grab handle

Step-by-step instructions

You’ll receive the same Fix-it Kit, whether you’re replacing the top or side grab handle. But the instructions are slightly different for each location.

Top grab handle instructions

Part A: Removing the original grab handle

  1. Unzip and open your case, laying it flat on a solid surface.
  2. Remove the packing cells on the right-hand side and find the centre zip. This has an upside-down zipper pull, so you will be able to open it by inserting something small into the gap and making the gap larger. Unzip from the top down.
  3. Inside this section, lift up the fabric that covers the grab handle’s internal fixings.
  4. Use the hex key to undo the 2 outside screws (1 at each end of the handle).
  5. Use the hex key to undo the 4 screws on the inside (2 on each side). Note, the bottom 2 screws will have webbing attached to them.
  6. Remove the grab handle.

Part B: Installing the new grab handle

  1. On the exterior of the case, align the handle with the 6 screw holes. Throughout this process, ensure that the handle stays close to the suitcase shell, so that the screw holes remain lined up.
  2. On the exterior of the case, place the 2 caps over the top of the handle ends. The cap with the Bellroy logo goes on the right-hand side.
  3. On the interior of the case, locate the 4 inside screw holes.
  4. Grab the 2 webbing straps and align the holes on these with the 2 bottom screw holes.
  5. Use the hex key to fasten 2 B screws into these 2 holes.
  6. Use the hex key to fasten the other 2 B screws into the remaining 2 inside holes.
  7. Use the hex key to fasten the 2 A screws into the 2 outside holes (at each end of the handle).
  8. Zip the ‘upside-down’ zip back up, from bottom to top.

You’ve now replaced your top grab handle. Congrats!

Part B: Installing the new grab handle

  1. On the exterior of the case, align the handle externally with the 6 screw holes.
