UX Designer and Product Champion

At Bellroy, we pour our heart, soul and many design hours into helping people carry better. Our digital assets play a huge part in making that happen, and we’re looking for a great UX designer to push the user experience and to project manage improving (and our digital marketplaces). We’re looking for a UX designer with particular interests in information architecture and interaction design to work with our team of designers and developers to inspire new levels of customer engagement and to ensure our online experience is as intuitive and seamless as possible.

If you geek out on understanding how UX drives customer engagement and are looking to take a step up to championing the overall improvement of, we want to talk to you. You will get to join a community of talented people who share the goal of helping the world and their fellow team members flourish, and you’ll be the lynch pin that brings together design, development and commercial savvy to make a world leader in online retail experiences.

We work with a growth mindset, experimenting, iterating, shifting and always looking for better ways to achieve our goals. So, working with our team of creatives, designers, analysts and developers, you’ll play a critical role in helping our digital environments grow. In return, we’ll give you the tools you need to do a great job, the space to make that happen, and the support you need to flourish.

Bellroy and our sister company, TrikeApps, are co-located in our Fitzroy studio and work together closely to make awesome. TrikeApps are a team of back and front end developers, working primarily in Ruby on Rails. You’d be the key point of contact for Bellroy with the TrikeApps team, helping to make sure that all of our development requests make sense, are the best versions of themselves (more the thing the requester now realises they should have asked for than the thing they actually asked for), and that Trike Devs have what they need to write great code.

You have a particular interest in human behavior, and take pleasure in ensuring our customers can make good decisions through seamless interactions. You understand that nothing is perfect, and that there’s always opportunity for improvement – even if it means looking in the quieter corners of the experience: confirmation emails, shopping cart, checkout pages…

You’re handy with the technical stuff. With sound knowledge of UX, UI, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, you’re happy to put your tech-geek hat on when the time is right; you’re just as comfortable talking to a back-end developer regarding some implementation complexities as you are talking to the creative team.

You’re strategically minded. You can recognise a good idea, and more importantly, the right idea. If you don’t get it right the first time, you’re A-OK with seeking feedback and moving on to a new method for the sake of the long-term goal.

You can take a project and run with it. Which is awesome, because as the champion, you’ll manage website and digital projects and work closely with the TrikeApps, Bellroy Creative and Bellroy Product Release teams as well as your own stable of collaborators to make sure our digital projects are deployed confidently and expertly.

If you share our steely focus, appetite for constant learning, and desire to do excellent work, we’d love to hear from you.
