SEO Specialist

IN A NUTSHELL

We’re searching for an SEO Specialist to champion our global SEO strategy across Bellroy.com and Amazon marketplaces. As an integral part of our Digital Sales team, you’ll work closely with our in-house team of digital specialists, and have direct access to, and work cross-functionally with, our in-house creatives, tech & data specialists who will support you on performance optimisation. We’re a growing business and our custom-built website supports 9 languages and 13 currencies to support our growth in global markets. You’ll be in charge of working with our copywriters, translators and content publishers to ensure that SEO is effective globally on bellroy.com and our Amazon marketplaces.

We need your SEO expertise to shape and execute core business processes and consult on key projects. You will have your finger on the pulse of changes in the SEO space, so that you can recommend and implement mitigations both reactively and proactively.

You know one small change can make a big difference, but won’t let perfect be the enemy of good. You’ll be the voice of SEO in the business, who will be able to not only advocate for SEO, but also to educate those around you. You will help improve SEO literacy in the business, but also work with teams on how to integrate it with minimal friction and disruption.

IF YOU WERE HERE LAST WEEK YOU MIGHT HAVE...

  • Worked with our Copywriting team to discuss keywords and how we might integrate them into Google Shopping Feed titles and product page copy.
  • Spoken with our Japanese translator to understand how to improve high traffic pages to better optimise for keywords in the localised context.
  • Discussed your approach to a task with one of our Data Scientists to refine the analysis and ensure it delivers insights in which the business will have high confidence.
  • Consulted with Digital Management on an SEO-related project to justify its priority and answer any questions the team have on how it impacts other areas of the business.
  • Consulted our Advertising team on keywords strategy to ensure minimal cannibalisation between paid and organic keyword targeting
  • Reported on the results of a recent SEO test and made recommendations from these findings.
  • Provided a monthly snapshot of our organic search performance highlighting changes to key metrics and and insights that might explain why these changes occurred.
  • Explored a new AI tool to determine how it might manage large-scale content changes (while maintaining quality)

YOU COULD BE THE ONE IF YOU HAVE…

  • 3+ years experience in an SEO-focused role with experience assisting in translation and localisation processes for non-english speaking markets
  • The ability to manage stakeholders and desire to work collaboratively cross functionally
  • You live and breath SEO best practice, and know how to read the subtext to a recommendation
  • You value an evidence based approach over trends and hype
  • A healthy balance of SEO expertise and business acumen
  • An interest in how AI tools can help you work better and faster on a personal and larger business scale
  • A curious, analytical, data driven approach with a growth mindset and interest in continuous improvement, of skills, systems, processes
  • A strong interest in customer insights and human behaviour
  • The desire to work for a company that cares about doing good things for the world

Bellroy' is a fusion of our two homes – Bells Beach and Fitzroy. Bells Beach brings a relaxed, outdoor vibe to balance Fitzroy's creative, urban style. The city and the sea; inspiration and adventure. Together they provide a perfect balance.

Bells Beach

Our beach HQ sits behind giant sandstone cliffs that overlook one of Australia’s best-known surfing coastlines. It’s where our Product Designers experiment in the Maker Lab, and our Sales team consume awesome amounts of espresso and Skype bandwidth. Things are more tranquil here than our Fitzroy neighbours and we like the focus that can create. There’s a cafe right next door if you need a quick bite and our 11am surf check always provides the perfect chance to reset the mind with some salt air.

Fitzroy

Our Fitzroy space is immersed in the middle of Melbourne’s creative hub. It’s where our Creative, Marketing, Engineering and Operations teams develop campaigns and ensure each Bellroy is sent safely across the world. Walk out the door and you’ll find streets bursting with energy (and the best ramen joint this side of Tokyo).

Remotely

Outside of our two main headquarters we have a team that works remotely - from Western Australia to parts of Asia, the USA and Europe. Being global is at the heart of Bellroy, it keeps us connected, and makes sure we see life from many different perspectives.
