Digital Content Lead

IN A NUTSHELL

At Bellroy, we pour our heart and soul into designing products that delight our customers every day. And we work hard to ensure folks all around the world have the chance to experience that. We offer our products on 11 digital marketplaces (in six languages), maintain social media presence on WeChat for Chinese audiences, and translate our own website into three languages (English, Japanese and German). Our Digital Content Lead is vital in helping us spread the Bellroy brand around the world. You’ll work with content creators and digital agents to maintain and deploy localised content for Bellroy.com and our digital marketplaces. You’ll pull together our team of designers, copywriters, translators and proofreaders to make sure they’re all working effectively towards the same goal. You’ll keep your eagle eye on our storefronts, foreseeing the need for content, plugging any holes, fixing any mishaps and encouraging your remote team to do the same. If you bring your sharp mind, organized hand and detail-oriented eye, our world class team will give you the freedom, resources and support you need to make a difference.


IT TAKES A UNIQUE KIND OF HUMAN…

Language is awesome. You know it, we know it. You also know that your language skills are finely tuned. You can deliver a brief in writing, confidently discuss projects with senior stakeholders, and navigate nuances of culture and personality. You’re decisive, warm and able to deliver logic and reason in human terms.

Your attention to detail is something else. You notice when the apple grower changes their sticker logo, or the new café puts an apostrophe in ‘drinks’. You might sweat the small stuff, but it doesn’t overwhelm you. Because you know how to weigh up the importance of an apostrophe in relation to a missing web page. And when to cut people some slack, versus when to crack the whip (although we generally prefer other methods of motivating people, leaving the whip cracking to Indiana Jones). .

You take a great deal of pride and joy in guiding others towards a really great outcome, and that’s wonderful because at Bellroy we love great outcomes. But if the end result is not so great every now and again, that’s OK. As long as you’re willing to own it, learn from it, and figure out how to do it better next time, we’ll be right there with you.

You’re just as comfortable motivating a team of people as you are with your head in a spreadsheet or matrix-level file system. Because you’re a bit of a plate-spinner. At any given time, those plates might include multiple back-end portals, translation queries, new pieces of copy for the website and a newsletter for WeChat (which you notice seems a touch off-brand, so you add another plate to your hands by rectifying it). And yep, you spin them confidently – no breakages.

You probably come from a creative background – graphic design, copywriting, digital design, for instance – with an interest in project management; or vice versa. Making the transition from “doer of things” to “coordinator and manager of things” seems like a natural step for you. And, if you have an understanding of digital marketing and other languages (happen to speak Mandarin? Step on up.), we’ll be even more impressed.


IF YOU WERE HERE LAST WEEK, YOU MIGHT HAVE…

  • Launched a new product on six Amazon platforms – having collated product information, images, copy and uploaded them to Amazon’s ‘Seller Central’ for all six languages.
  • Attended a conference call with our Japanese digital agent to facilitate a design refresh of our Rakuten storefront.
  • Created a brief for translators and proofreaders to translate new copy for bellroy.com.
  • Collated a product launch assets package of information, images, videos and product release copy, and sent it to our Chinese agent for Tmall.
  • Coordinated digital asset deployment across Amazon, Tmall, Rakuten, WeChat and bellroy.com.
  • Collated social media and newsletter assets created for our English-speaking audience and had them reappropriated for China.
  • Audited your collection of digital content and assets to make sure everything was in order.
